Summer Internship at NEO (Vol.2):

A group of six student-interns from Deree - The American College of Greece, are participating in internships concerning various and interdisciplinary topics, in collaboration with NEO.

Eleftheria Kyriazidi, an Environmental Studies student and Anna Lazaridi who majors in Biomedical Sciences, are participants in an internship pertaining to recording #vegetation and #soil quality.

They are using transect lines and quadrat methods to identify and map vegetation in #Voidokoilia beach and sand dunes, while also recording soil quality and weather conditions. By the end of their internship, they intend to create a Herbarium representative of the vegetation of Voidokoilia area.

Both interns have great interest in their project, due to their concern for environmental issues and their interest in studying #flora in a #Natura2000 region.
