During September 3-7, a group of 20 students from Physical Geography department of Kiel University, headed by Prof. Ingmar Unkel and Prof. Hans-Rudolf Bork, was visiting NEO. Their main focus was on Coastal Processes, Coastal Morphology, and the development of Coastal Landforms over time.The students were introduced to the #tectonic processes influencing the coast around Navarino during Quaternary Times, creating uplift, beach rocks and terraces. Additionally, they visited Gialova Lagoon and they had a lecture about the development of the lagoon and current approaches on how to manage the human impact on the lagoon.
